IFS Intern

June - July 2018 • Atlanta, GA

What I liked

I enjoyed my time at PwC because it exposed me to different lines of service and different people with varying experiences. I worked at the Data Center and I learnt a lot about technology and how information is processed. I was given an awesome career coach, peer coach, and relationship leader who was a partner. I enjoyed meeting them over lunch and discussing my future. They all had valuable advice that I’ll always remember.

What I wish was different

Longer timeframe.

Advice

Don’t be afraid to meet people and ask about their experiences while you’re on the job. Everyone is willing to share because they’ve been where you are. Also keep in contact with your growing networks!! Don’t grow them and leave them. Always catch them up to your progress.

What I liked

The support system & culture at the firm is great! I always felt encouraged & challenged constantly to do better.

What I wish was different

Advice

I would say be open to meeting and networking with a variety of professionals. I reached out to other interns and employees in other teams and I was able to jump on projects that broadened my perspective on the different lines of services at the firm. As well as my supervisor was impressed with how comfortable I was with setting up coffee & lunches with different people. So definitely get out of your comfort zone and network! You’ll meet a lot of amazing people and don’t be afraid to ask about their career experiences and challenges because professionals enjoy talking about themselves.

Risk Assurance Intern

June - August 2018 • San Jose, CA

What I liked

I really enjoyed the people I met and the challenges that I was presented with. One of the best things about PwC is working with individuals who are talented and intelligent. This enables one to grow as a person. I also liked the amount of technology in my job. I feel like I learned a lot of new tech skills and tech software. At my internship, I was a sponge who was constantly absorbing the new ideas and concepts being presented to me. It was a lot of hard work but when my internship finished I felt very proud of myself.

What I wish was different

I wish I had looked at different careers at PwC. PwC has many different careers and opportunities and I wish I had the opportunity to look at different careers.

Advice

One piece of advice that I would give is that interns should shadow PwC business professionals in other lines of service. Shadowing can help an individual learn about other careers at PwC and if they would like they could potentially switch to a different line of service.
