Who do we want?
At OZY, we are looking for a hardworking and creative intern with a background in journalism and photography. You should be highly motivated, detail-oriented with a keen eye for strong, surprising and thought-provoking art to help our readers see more, be more and do more. You will work hard but receive the benefit of committed guidance and reviews from your managers and gain valuable insight into what photo editors at web-based publications do. We’re looking for interns who want to be actively involved in the team and have what it takes to run with ideas and own them.
Must-haves:
- Photoshop experience
- Extremely professional
- Strong visual literacy and communication and project-management skills
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, startup environment
- Broad cultural and current-events knowledge
- Students of visual communications or journalism preferred (or similar work experience)
- Interest in the future of digital media
- References

Day-to-day responsibilities: No one day at OZY is the same. Interns will work on numerous tasks assisting our photo editors, including image research, image purchasing and web production. Interns will also have the option to serve as assistants in the field and assist with OZY’s visual presence on social media.
