Position Description: Marketing Intern  

IMS is currently seeking a Marketing Intern to work on our McDonald’s branded merchandise account.   This is a paid position and will be based out of our Oak Brook, IL office.  The Marketing Intern will work with clients and internal contacts to drive the flawless execution/marketing/communication of branded merchandise projects across all areas of the client partnership. In particular, the Marketing Intern will help in the roll-out of our consumer branded merchandise site (pending); help manage our Coca-Cola summer promotion initiative; optimize usage of our enhanced B to B website and source/promote/communicate new promotional items/work designed to elevate the McDonald’s brand.

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  •  Support the  Account/Sales team with a variety of tasks, including gaining legal approvals, timeline development, invoicing and interaction with other internal departments
  • Work across all parties (Client, Agency and internal team) to manage execution and distribution of branded materials. This includes understanding program objectives, working with internal team to determine needed versions and quantities, assisting with results reporting and qualitative research, and managing communication to ensure materials are packed and delivered on time
  • Provide project management support, creative concepting, billing (including opening jobs, pulling SKU’s, cutting PO’s), general research and audits, ad hoc item sourcing/development, and  program/item analysis
  • Assist with the placement of direct orders and completion of internal program forms and spreadsheets, including templates for bulk orders uploaded to branded merchandise system

Experience/Qualifications:

  •  Currently enrolled at an accredited university and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Media, Communications or related field
  • Must be a self-starter and have excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and manage priorities under tight timelines
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and requests
  • Must be a team player
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
