Publicity Intern

Chicago Review Press is seeking a full-time, dedicated intern to join a successful publicity department representing a variety of publishers. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional written communication skills, have a working knowledge of national and regional media, and be able to multi-task efficiently. Previous PR or publishing experience is not required. Experience in the book industry and a degree in a related field is a plus. Ideal candidates will have an energetic attitude and a desire to learn about all aspects of the publishing world specifically its marketing aspects.

The intern will report to one of our Publicist within the Chicago Review Press and Independent Publishers Group Publicity department. They will have a cubicle with all appropriate office equipment provided to them.

• Draft press materials for a wide variety of publishers and genres

• Gain a working knowledge of the book publicity industry and prominent media outlets

• Familiarize oneself with media list building and campaign monitoring software

• Assist in the successful execution of book publicity campaigns

• Manage administrative tasks and publicity monitoring archive


They will work directly with one other intern and report to one of the Publicists.
