Social and Community Impact Intern (Master’s/MBA)

As the Social and Community Impact (SCI) Intern you will partner with the SCI team in developing and executing Converse’s global long-term social impact strategy. You’ll work directly with senior leadership to build partnerships with organizations focused on positive youth development, giving youth access to the resources and opportunities they need to change the game in their communities and the world. In addition, you will also serve as a mentor to a team of undergraduate interns on their cross-functional group project.
 
Responsibilities include:

SCI Program Design & Execution
·      Assist in development of program strategies, designs and partnerships with cross-functional teams and employee resource groups focused on Converse’s strategic priority areas – economic empowerment and civic engagement, creative youth development (music/art/fashion/design) and sport (basketball and skate).
·      Research potential partners focused on positive youth development in Boston, New York and Los Angeles
SCI Operations
·      Assist in implementation and oversight of SCI policies, processes and management systems, including financial and product donations.
·      Track all charitable giving documentation, including financial donations, acknowledgement letters, and in-kind donations for quarterly reporting
·      Collect data to compile reports to measure impact and reach of donations
·      Manage SCI communications, including developing content for Converse internal and external websites, and responding to internal and external inquiries about programs.
·      Manage payment and grant making with non-profit partners
Volunteer Coordination
·      Coordinate a regular cadence of volunteer opportunities and events for Converse employees working with relevant local partners
·      Support Employee Volunteer Council with recruitment of volunteers, including communication, meetings and briefings
·      Support logistics of off-site volunteer events, including communications, transportation, food and beverage requirements, photography, videography and necessary product delivery

Qualifications:
  • First year student at a top-tier MA/MPA/MBA program
  • Experience managing social impact programs, including grants management, compliance, budgeting and program oversight.
  • Experience with positive youth development methodologies preferred.
  • Problem structuring and strategic problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and project management skills
  • Experience with presenting and influencing senior leadership
  • Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally
