Human Resources Generalist

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
If you are an HR Generalist looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Ava, MO location, you will work in all areas of HR supporting a three shift manufacturing facility. This position requires the ability to manage and support both hourly and salaried team members. You will demonstrate the ability to lead safety, workers compensation, and unemployment programs as well as assist in recruiting, training, benefits, payroll, and policy administration.

AS AN HR GENERALIST, YOU WILL: 
• Manage the facility safety programs per OSHA and Emerson guidance
• Coordinate state unemployment activities
• Manage site workers compensation program
• Recruit, hire, and train team members to meet production needs
• Supervise two to three other HR team members 
• Support team members in application of benefits, retirement, unemployment, safety, and payroll
• Assist management team in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures
• Ability to lead classroom training for hourly and salaried team member

You follow up on your commitments and responsibilties to others. You help others manage disagreements over policy and procedure and are able to remain neutral in your opinions. You schedule work, training, meetings, etc. for yourself and others being able to take into account the needs of others. 

REQUIRED SKILLS:
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• Bachelor's degree plus at least 1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of team members and peers.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
• Leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects  
• Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  
• PHR/SHRM Certification
• At least 3 years prior HR experience
• Prior manufacturing experience
• Prior safety program management experience
• Open to relocation in the future for career advancement at Emerson
