Financial Analyst
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Financial Analyst is responsible for conducting financial modeling, planning, benchmarking and peer analysis and monitoring and providing financial analysis to assist the organization in developing reports on which to base financial and strategic decisions. This position is responsible for preparing various internal and external reporting, investigating general ledger issues and other profitability analyses. This position has moderate decision-making authority and must possesses the ability to structure concise presentations of findings, and effectively present this to any level in the organization.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Duties:
- Manage reporting and analysis ultimately helping to drive change that is focused on key strategic priorities.
- Provide support to quarterly reporting process for leadership
- Conduct independent research and analytical projects involving financial modeling/forecasting to provide senior management with definitive financial trend date and advice for their use in setting and realizing strategic objectives.
- Assist with the design of projects and may lead projects of moderate scope.
- Perform detailed, interpretative financial analysis utilizing complex financial tools to demonstrate scenarios/activities.
- Build and maintain forecasting models/tools; work in collaboration with business groups to provide insightful analysis.
- Play a role in cross functional efforts, teams, leveraging resources and relationships across the Bank to further team or project goals.
- Maintain strong financial controls and drive continual process improvement.
- Special projects as assigned; FP&A, investor relations, and corporate development
Knowledge of:
- In depth knowledge of transactions pervasive in banking industry and accounting methods to record such transactions
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial principles
- Advanced working knowledge in spreadsheet and database software such as Excel and Access
- Prior experience of accounting and auditing or extensive work experience in financial reporting and analysis in the banking industry
- Understanding of internal control, audit methods, core business procedures, risks and related exposure
Ability to:
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Extremely strong analytical, problem-solving skills and business acumen
- Experienced in managing projects
- Analytical ability to interpret data and present it in a meaningful and easily understood form while providing recommendations
EDUCATION & TRAINING
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; MBA preferred
2-5 years of complex financial analysis experience
Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office.
