Business Development Intern – ALLETE Clean Energy

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Development 
  • Develops an understanding of US renewable market, its competitive landscape, clean energy technologies including wind, solar, and storage
  • Follow clean energy market developments and reports a summary with the Business Development team on a weekly basis
  • Provides a variety of business analysis, transaction, and customer activities related support.
  • Participates in Business Development routine and ad-hoc meetings, with internal and external stake holders
  • Supports tax equity diligence process including maintaining the Q&A log
  • Understand and support evaluation of clean energy transaction opportunities
  • Participates in the company’s forward looking discussion around strategy
  • Support project development efforts as directed
Customer Solutions
  • Understand ALLETE Clean Energy current customer 
  • Assist in preparing periodical customer reports
  • Understand power marketing functions and support external interactions
  • Assist in preparing Request For Proposal responses and other ad-hoc projects as directed
Soft Skill
  • High degree of initiative to complete assigned duties is required, as well as high level of organizational skills and the ability to perform duties under time constraints.
  • Exceptional communication skills are required to be able to effectively communicate to internal and external stakeholders.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Must currently be enrolled in a Bachelor degree program in Business, preferably with a focus on sustainability with some course work in finance, marketing, accounting preferred.
  • Must have a graduation date between May 2021 and June 2022.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Business experience preferred but is not considered essential

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required in order to establish and maintain relationships.
  • This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
