Social Media & Community Management Intern

We are currently seeking an ambitious and motivated Social Media Intern with a passion for B2B marketing. The top candidate will possess strong time management and communication skills and is well acquainted with all the primary social channels: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram. Additionally, the Social Media Intern will gain real-world experience with a fast-paced marketing agency in the B2B tech industry. This position is a paid internship at $17/hr, and the top candidate must commit to at least 15 hours a week (but no more than 20). Our office is located at an Industrious community office location downtown Chicago in Ogilvie. 

Responsibilities:
  • Schedule weekly client content on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram using a variety of social media management platforms. 
  • Assisting the team with daily tasks like social media research, monitoring and community management across all social channels, including responding to comments and direct messages.
  • Generate social media analytics reports and provide insightful recommendations.
  • Research and stay up to date on pop culture trends and channel opportunities.
  • Identify and vet potential influencer partners. 
  • Support our Content Team in creating social media content for our clients.

Requirements & Qualifications: 
  • Strong project management and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong writing skills overall, and more specifically, strong ability to create content tailored to the respective social media platforms.
  • Motivated self-starter who is detail-oriented and able to work independently.
  • Must be able to juggle multiple clients’ social media channels and adhere to individual platform goals.
  • Must be agile and able to adapt to evolving project definitions and requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete large volumes of work efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be able to generate sensible, realistic, practical solutions to problems.
  • Professional, reliable, driven, and results-oriented.
  • Creative, able to apply current social media trends to fit clients’ existing brands and goals.
  • Ideal for juniors or seniors in college or graduate students looking for hands-on experience in digital marketing.
  • Previous experience with social media management tools like Hootsuite, Oktopost, SproutSocial, etc. is a plus.
  • Previous experience in running or managing a business/branded social media profile is a plus.
