Afterschool Program Team Leader

MCA teachers and team leaders must be committed to creating environments that will help our students meet their academic and developmental needs. We anchor our academic curriculum with social and emotional learning, play and activity-based education, and community service as an expression of love for our neighbors and community. MCA's newly renovated facility provides our students the comfort of large, bright classroom spaces, dedicated chapel and indoor play areas, and a peaceful neighborhood.

Our Afterschool Program helps families juggle all their commitments by providing a stable, supportive environment for our students. Working with students ranging in age from three through ten, our afterschool staff focus on allowing kids time to be kids, including play, games, and activities. We spend time outdoors as often as the weather allows us. And we help our older students stay on top of their schoolwork with a period of quiet study time.

As an Afterschool Program Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:
  • Supervising and caring for children.
  • Developing and leading age-appropriate activities for children aged 3 through 5th grade.
  • Cleaning and tidying play and snack areas.
  • Providing direction and mentorship to high school age helpers.
  • Communicating with the program coordinator regarding any potential issues or concerns.

We have two openings for part-time positions that will be needed during the academic school year. Hours are from 3-6 p.m. up to five days per week. We are willing to work around class schedules for the right candidate.

This opportunity will allow students with a long-term career interest in working in education, social work, health care, or community services to gain practical experience in a fun, supportive environment. We also happen to think we have some of the best kids around!
