Youth Recreation Development VISTA, Hub Sports Center (National Service)

Member Duties : This is the first year of a 3-year VISTA project to develop outdoor fields and a teen center for youth and families in the greater Spokane Valley area, many of whom are experiencing poverty. The Year 1 VISTA member will research the benefits of sports and play on social-emotional and physical development, with an emphasis on the impacts for low-income youth and families. They will develop marketing and communications resources to raise awareness of the project and its value, and to support grant-writing efforts. Additionally, the VISTA member will identify opportunities and resources to fund, further develop, and sustain this exciting initiative and its future programs. Individuals eager to develop their research, communications, and grant-writing skills are encouraged to apply.
