Hillside Adult Education is a program of the Sauk Rapids-Rice Public School District and is a member of the Central Minnesota Adult Basic Education consortium. Hillside is the only adult education site in Central Minnesota where adults can finish their high school credits. Or, we can help you prepare for the GED test, improve your English or prepare for a career in manufacturing or healthcare. We serve intermediate and advanced English Language learners, and help them work to achieve high school equivalency, industry credentials or even college credits through our program.

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Literacy Account Specialist to uphold and apply the values of Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools including:

WORK HOURS:
Part-time position for the 2022-2023 school year. 18 hours per week, inclusive of prep time, plus training and meetings, for a total of 475 hours (.3262 FTE) for the school year. Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

JOB DUTIES:
Support and assist adult learners, ABE teachers, administrators and other staff in the areas of ESL (English as a Second Language), literacy development, and other academic areas. Duties include tracking attendance and lead classes as needed.
Essential Duties:
1. Oversee record-keeping process including intakes, attendance, and pre-and Post-testing
2. Complete tutor training and lead small groups under the direction of a licensed teacher
3. Reviewing pre-and post-testing data
4. Assist in recruitment activities
5. Photocopying, creating, and delivering materials as needed
6. Support with external relations as assigned
7. Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS Degree
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in English Language
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written skills required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of two years relevant work experience (preferably in Adult Basic Education)
- Strong skill set in student testing, data analysis, measurable skills gains, and student advancement
- Experience teaching English Language Learners in Adult Education classes
- Strong ability to establish a culture of learning, respect, and rapport among colleagues and students

SALARY:
Based on the Sauk Rapids-Rice Education Associations Master Agreement Adult Basic Education pay scale.
