Hillside Adult Education is a program of the Sauk Rapids-Rice Public School District and is a member of the Central Minnesota Adult Basic Education consortium. Hillside is the only adult education site in Central Minnesota where adults can finish their high school credits. Or, we can help you prepare for the GED test, improve your English or prepare for a career in manufacturing or healthcare. We serve intermediate and advanced English Language learners, and help them work to achieve high school equivalency, industry credentials or even college credits through our program.

We are seeking an experienced and innovative English Learner Instructor to uphold and apply the values of Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools including:

WORK HOURS:
Part-time position for the 2022-2023 school year. 18 hours per week, inclusive of prep time, plus training and meetings, for a total of 475 hours (.3262 FTE) for the school year. Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

JOB DUTIES:
1. Teach English Language (EL) classes at Sauk Rapids-Rice Hillside Adult Education, to intermediate and advanced EL learners
2. Prepare and deliver textbook-based curriculum for adult learners in conversation, listening, reading and writing.
3. Maintain and submit attendance records, monitor learner progress and maintain accurate learner records, including CASAS testing.
4. Work in direct cooperation with the Hillside ABE Coordinator and other staff to provide learning opportunities and support services as needed for adult learners.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS Degree, current State of Minnesota Teaching License in English as a Second Language, or Master's degree in TESOL
- Experience and/or knowledge in working with adult learners whose first language is not English
- Organizational skills, ability to work independently and maintain accurate records
- Excellent oral and written skills required

SALARY:
Based on the Sauk Rapids-Rice Education Associations Master Agreement Adult Basic Education pay scale.
