Legislative Assistant
Republican Senator-elect Jesse James is now accepting applications for the open Legislative Assistant position in his office.
The primary responsibilities of this position are as follows:
· Managing, receiving, and responding to constituent contacts and communications to the office via phone, email, mail, Saw You in the News, etc.
· Maintaining and updating Forward database
· Offering administrative support to the office (answering phones, assisting with scheduling, and managing the office inbox)
· Assisting with communications tasks involving district outreach, social media, E-Updates, website management, citations, and press releases
· Helping to provide a welcoming environment to office visitors, constituents, and school groups
· Attending various meetings and legislative committees as needed
· Assisting in policy research efforts and management as needed
· Other projects and tasks as assigned by Senator-elect James
Ideal candidates for this position would possess:
· Excitement to be part of Team James and serve the people of the 23rd Senate District
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent customer service capabilities and the ability to handle constituent concerns and complaints in a gracious manner
· Adaptability in a fast-paced work environment
· Organization and the ability to manage projects and responsibilities simultaneously
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and willingness to gain knowledge of other programs
· Capability to work as part of a collaborative team as well as seeking out opportunities for independent work and growth
