Social Justice Internship
Ohio Citizen Action is seeking activist minded individuals to join our campaign staff. As Ohio's largest environmental nonprofit, OCA has maintained a forty-two year history of WINNING groundbreaking campaigns. Among other landmark victories, we passed the first Toxic Right-to-Know laws in the country, exposed major political corruption in Ohio, and pioneered a truly community-based structure of organizing. Now we need you to help tackle Ohio’s biggest problem: coal.
At OCA you will learn what it takes to be a community
organizer. You will be joining a team
of dedicated and like-minded individuals in the fight to protect our
environment, public health and our communities at large. OCA provides the opportunity to make real environmental change stemming
locally and reaching out globally.
OCA is at the forefront of efforts to protect our natural resources and public
interest. As a member of our campaign team, you will have the opportunity to
influence the ever expanding environmental movement in Ohio. We are leading the
charge in moving Ohio towards a more renewable energy future. For too long, fossil fuels have been
poisoning our drinking water and compromising the air we breathe. Join the fight for a cleaner, sustainable
future!
We are hiring and training community organizers to join our staff, both for
part-time and long-term positions. There is ample room for advancement, and
we work year round -- we don't disappear after elections or at campaign end.
Candidates should have strong verbal communication skills, be positive and
energetic, and have an interest in environmental issues or non-profit work.
We offer extensive training.

Compensation:
$240-$400/wk (based on schedule) + wkly bonus
No degree required, open to freshman
