University of Illinois Press Design Intern

The University of Illinois Press in collaboration with the School of Art + Design is looking for a student designer to join our design department. As a student designer you will work closely with the creative team designing covers and helping out with the cover process. The student designer also will work closely with the design department to create materials for our books, journals, and marketing department. 

Specific tasks include, but are not limited to designing book covers and book interiors, scanning, developing marketing materials, and evaluating images. 

We are looking for someone who: 

• Has proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop 
• Can create original ideas for new book
• Is a creative problem-solver
• Works well independently and also as a team
• Is looking to build a portfolio of published works 
  

Time commitment: 8-10 hours per week

Credits: 2-3 per semester
