SEO Specialist - Paid Internship-to-Hire
Yakkety Yak is looking for an SEO Specialist to assist our growing content team. Working alongside our lead Content Strategist, your projects will range from keyword research and on-page SEO, to creating monthly client reports that reflect the performance of traffic, leads, email, and social media channels. We’re looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who is eager to work in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and contribute to the success and culture of a growing agency.
Candidate would initially start as a paid intern and become a full-time employee within 3 months. While working as an intern, candidate will be trained in SEO best practices, performance tracking, analytics, and reporting.

SEO Responsibilities
Doing on-page SEO and optimizing content
Performing keyword research to find new ranking opportunities
Running SEO audits on clients websites and addressing any errors or warnings found
Analyzing website structure to improve user experience and increase conversion
Extracting insights from traffic analytics and ranking data
Formulating strategies to improve rankings for our clients
Reporting on overall SEO performance
Finding link building and guest posting opportunities for our clients
Reporting Responsibilities
Create monthly client reports showing the performance of traffic, leads, email, and social media channels
Monitor weekly performance of various analytics (traffic, leads, email, social media) and address any performance issues
About You
Yakkety Yak is a fast-paced, startup environment where marketing, design and editorial excellence is considered a core competency, and employees are expected to continually improve upon this excellence. The ideal candidate should possess the following skills, interests and competencies:
0-1 years of experience in SEO and/or Digital Marketing (not required but preferred)
0-1 years of experience with Google Analytics and Social Media Analytics (not required but preferred)
0-1 years of experience with WordPress, updating WordPress sites and utilizing WordPress plugins (not required but preferred)
Interest in pursuing HubSpot Inbound Certification
Interest in Digital Marketing, latest trends and best practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Outstanding verbal and written communication
Superior organizational, time management skills and attention to details
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
Able to work with minimal supervision, while maintaining focus and productivity
Works well in a small team environment
