Photo Editor Intern

OZY is looking for a creative and artistic Photo Intern with an eye for graphic design to join our growing team for a 10-week internship! This person will be hungry to source the freshest art for editorial, possess an unparalleled eye for design and hold a desire to work in a fast-paced newsroom. At OZY, you will break the mold of the same old imagery attached to editorial projects and source from a multitude of outlets with the occasional photo shoot. You’ll create a colorful, dynamic homepage on OZY.com and art OZY.com articles with a keen sense of style. You will receive mentorship from recognized photo editors who dream of taking typical journalism to the next level. Top candidates will be able to demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit plus a passion for pushing the limits as we continue to bring the excitement back to news media while inspiring our readers and partners to be curious, creative and do more!

What you’ll do:

• Source beautiful imagery; illustration a plus

• Edit and crop photos

• Keep up on the latest trends in photo editing and maintain the OZY brand

• Collaborate with reporters and videographers

• Join larger projects, immersive articles and more!

Requirements:

• 1+ years of journalism and photo editing experience

• Adobe Suite experience, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator

• Strong visual literacy, communication and project management skills

• Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, startup environment

• Broad cultural and current events knowledge

• Students of visual communication/journalism preferred (or similar work experience)

• Interest in the future of digital media
