Audit Intern
June - August 2019 • Santa Clara, CA
What I liked
The experience was absolutely fantastic. The teams were amazing, the training was phenomenal, and the clients were incredible. The other interns were great to spend time with and reflected the great people that KPMG seeks to employ.
What I wish was different
The travel from San Jose to San Francisco was a little rough so would have not been opposed to sticking to the south bay area but I understood the demand was necessary.
Advice
Go in with an open mind and willingness to learn! Arrogance is incredibly easy to spot in the auditing field and it just makes you look silly so be humble and ready to work and you will have a great experience.

IT Audit and Assurance Interm
June - August 2019 • Irvine, CA
What I liked
I gained a lot of practical skills that made it easier to see how the academic content I learned was relevant.
What I wish was different
I had no complaints about the internship itself. I wish I had applied for an internship in prior summers.
Advice
Getting and internship might seem nerve-racking and uncomfortable, but getting out of your comfort zone is the only path towards growth. Putting it off will only put you at a disadvantage. It is never too early to attempt to get an internship, and even applying for one after Freshman year is a good idea.
