EY

Tax Intern Financial Services

June - August 2019 • Philadelphia, PA

What I liked

I loved the entire experience, I loved starting the job training in Dallas, Texas and ending the internship with a trip to Orlando, Florida. Although there was a lot of hard work between these trips and I was very overwhelmed at first, everyone on my engagements was very helpful teaching me the job and very patient if I was wrong as long as I tried my best everyday.

What I wish was different

I wish I was closer to my job, I ended up commuting over an hour to get to work each day from outside of West Chester. Other than that the interview process was very stressful but entirely worth it in the end.

Advice

Although you may feel you are struggling or not doing good enough, as long as you put in your best effort everyday, the teams will notice and help you through.

Financial Assurance Intern

June - August 2019 • Stamford, CT

What I liked

I learned more in this internship than any other one I have experienced. My team worked directly with me often and wanted to teach me. Through their teaching and also through them assigning me value adding, challenging work, I immensely improved not only my excel skills and auditing knowledge, but also improved my confidence in a working environment.

Auditing Intern

June - August 2019 • Boston, MA

What I liked

The teams that I worked with were excellent and I was fortunate enough to receive the work of an associate in busy season during the summer as I got to work with a project team.

What I wish was different

Nothing! I had a great experience with EY this summer.

Advice

I would recommend that you keep yourself busy at this job during the summer as an intern. If you don't currently have something to work on, make sure you are asking around and finding something because there is never a time when there is absolutely nothing you can do.

FSO Assurance Intern

January - March 2020 • Minneapolis, MN

What I liked

I loved working for EY! It's the ideal mesh between a big company and a small community. Your office feels like your home, but then you have this globally connected network of resources.

What I wish was different

I wish it would've been a bit longer! But as it was a busy season internship, I understand the short timeframe.

Advice

If you're an accounting major, starting Big 4 is ideal. The resources and opportunities available to you are incomparable.

Transfer Pricing Intern

June - August 2021 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I liked how the employees at EY assumed that I knew nothing about working. It is comforting to know that I am allowed to make mistakes, and that they know that I am learning.

What I wish was different

I wish that I have been into the office more often. EY’s One Manhattan West office is very beautiful, but they only opened up towards the end of my internship.

Advice

Ask a lot of questions and take a lot of notes. Also, learn Excel as that will help you tremendously.

Advice

Make sure you are good at basic administrative tasks such as Excel. They say they teach you ahead of time, but in my experience at the San Diego location, they expect you to have a good understanding going into the internship.
